November saw the return of our German partner school, Alfred Delp.
After the success of last years trip to Hamm where students from both schools stayed at the same venue, it was decided that we would follow suit and offer a 5 day residential to students from KS4 and 16+.
We stayed at Haworth Youth Hostel where our visitors got a taste for some British history through our photography walks to Haworth main street and the surrounding areas.
Through the week we took part in a variety of enriching activities including swimming, team building games, a trip to the I-max, a trip to pizza hut and a visit to the PVC vocational areas.
Throughout all of the activities communication between the two groups was excellent and the language barrier barely noticeable.
The highlight of the week came when we were lucky enough to get tickets to a champions league match at the Etihad where Manchester City put on a perfect display of their fast-paced attacking football, strolling to a 6-0 victory. Although it was a late night and we didn't return to the hostel until after midnight, the journey home was filled with vibrant talk of Gabriel Jesus' hat trick and Raheem Sterling's penalty dive.
On Friday the 9th we waved off the Alfred Delp staff and students from the hostel as set off to Manchester airport. The student consensus was that the trip has been brilliant and many have already asked for details of our return trip to Germany in 2019.
