Term Round up!

Well, what a term it has been!

The last few weeks have seen students (and staff) flaunting their talents at the PVC Christmas show, the PVC Christmas Fair and the Southfield Christmas Showcase. Everyone has worked so hard towards these events and demonstrated confidence, resilience and dedication to ensure all 3 events were a great success!

We have also had 2 events raising awareness and money for 2 charities; Children in Need back on 16th November and ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ last week for ‘Zoe’s Place’. Again students, staff and the amazing support from families, have demonstrated the strength and kindness of our community. Of course, we always love an opportunity to dress up!

This term has also seen a number of new starters to our growing staff team and all have made a fantastic start at Southfield! Of course, with change, come departures as well as arrivals, and it is with sadness that we have to say goodbye to a few friends also. For those staff leaving us, I would like to thank you all for the valuable contributions you have made to the Southfield community and wish you all the very best on your journeys into pastures new. Please feel welcome to come back and visit us in the future.

So as we come to the end of a long term we have a few more celebrations and events to finish off the year in style; including the school Christmas dinner and the Carol Concert on the last day. This is an important opportunity to celebrate our community and to reflect on our strengths in adversity.

We finish on the Winter solstice; the shortest day of the year, so it’s comforting to me to know that the days get brighter after that!

Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy holiday. See you in 2019!
