Grange Receives Positive Report From Ofsted
Following an Ofsted inspection at the end of January, Grange Technology College has received a positive report from Ofsted.
Ofsted reported: “Pupils report they feel safe in all areas of the school and have confidence in the staff, who are always available to support them when they have concerns. Those pupils who attend the designated specialist provision, also report they feel safe, welcome and included in the main school.”
We are pleased that the inspectors have acknowledged the journey that we have all been on over the past 2 and a half years. Ofsted has judged that the school has improved after much hard work from the staff and students of Grange.
But we are not complacent. We are already working on the feedback from the report on how we can improve further.
I will be working with the staff and students in my ‘Big Lessons’ where I talk to the whole year groups on subjects to help us grow and embrace the ‘Granger’ way.
Ofsted specifically pointed out that teaching, learning, assessment and behaviour are all improving within the school and that “the headteacher provides strong leadership and has been able to develop the leadership and management capacity in the school in a relatively short period of time”.
The inspectors from Ofsted went on to say in their report: “leaders and staff work extremely hard to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all pupils. They have created a culture which recognises each pupil as an individual, as well as continuing to develop an understanding of the community the school serves. The curriculum and pastoral support pupils receive, prepares them well for life in modern Britain.”
We are confident that these are good beginnings, but the best is still to come.
