Sixth Form at Grange
Our facilities at the Southfield Grange Campus are perfectly suited to the Sixth Form experience and are excellent for academic study, extra-curricular activities and relaxation. We provide an enrichment programme which is second to none, offering you the chance to broaden your experience, develop as an individual and enhance your C.V. We offer a wide range of courses including Applied Science, Law, English, Maths and A Level PE. We are very proud of our students at Grange and have a passion to ensure that we provide them with the very support and guidance.
Starting courses in the Sixth Form means that students become part of a key team; the Sixth Form, where students are expected to set an excellent example in all they do.
Accepting a place in the Sixth Form means every student will follow a specific post 16 programme of study consisting of four key elements: 1) Qualifications, 2) Work Preparation, 3) Enrichment, 4) Independent study. As part of the qualifications element there are compulsory timetabled lessons for all students who have not yet achieved a GCSE grade C or above in English and/or Mathematics.
All courses are subject to a formal review of general progress each term through discussion with tutors at Progress Evenings. There are also two Post 16 Progress Evenings in November and March which give students and their parents / carers the opportunity to meet with subject teachers to review performance and set specific targets to enhance academic attainment.
