On with the show!  Musica Spectacular

Southfield represented at a city-wide showcase of performing arts talent of SEND students.

On 15th November a large team of students and staff went to the Midland Hotel in Bradford to take part in a special event arranged by the District Achievement Partnership which represents all special schools in Bradford.

SEND students from Southfield, High Park, Delius and Hazelbeck performed to an audience of more than 300, with a strong contingent of parents, staff, governors and even the Deputy Mayoress of Bradford.  The following evening it was the turn of the other special schools to take to the stage.

Southfield performed a variety of acts with the theme of Alice in Wonderland.  Three was a variety of singing, call & response, drama, dance, art work, created and performed by our students especially for the event.  This was a fantastic experience for the students to share their skills and work alongside their peers from the other Special Schools.

Mrs Hill, Headteacher said: "Creativity and performance are a big part of what Southfield School is about. Giving the students the opportunity to create, rehearse and express themselves on stage has such a positive impact on their confidence and resilience.  This is hugely important for their development and has the added benefit of enabling families, staff and the wider community to enjoy such brilliant and life affirming  events such as this.  We are very proud to have been involved."
