Students Enter National Languages Competition

Year 7 students progress to regional round of national spelling competition.

Four Year 7 students came top of the class in a French spelling competition last week.  Razia Kiyani, Serish Zaman, Hamid Ali and Eisha Sajid (pictured left to right) fought it out with their peers for the change to go the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Final of the national Spelling  Bee competition which will take place in Hull later this year.  Foreign Language Spelling Bee is a competition for students in Year 7 to practise and improve their vocabulary, spelling and memory skills in a foreign language (French, German or Spanish).

They will take on hundreds of other students and will be working even harder than usual between now and then to extend their French vocabulary and spelling, ready for the competition.  We wish them luck and will report back on how they perform at the next stage.
