Miss Mander joins on a permanent basis
The trustees of The Southfield Grange Trust announce the appointment of Miss Mander as substantive Headteacher.
Since Grange was placed in special measures by Ofsted last year, that over the past 12 months there has been a strong partnership, in which staff of Guiseley School have provided considerable support for the improvement of Grange. Part of this arrangement was the introduction of Miss Mander as Acting Headteacher (on secondment from her position as Deputy Headteacher at Guiseley).
On Monday 5th December, an Ofsted inspection report was published that shows that Guiseley School requires improvement. As a result of this outcome, Guiseley School will no longer be the provider of this support package. In order to secure continued improvement at Grange and to provide the stability the school needs, the trustees of The Southfield Grange Trust have taken the decision to appoint Miss Mander as the substantive Headteacher of Grange Technology College.
The trustees of The Southfield Grange Trust wish to extend their thanks to Guiseley School's Headteacher Paul Morrissey and his staff team, for the valuable support provided over the last year that has contributed to the progress made at Grange.
The trustees are also close to confirming a new support package from a high performing school to pick up the work that Guiseley School had previously been undertaking.
Trust CEO, Dominic Wall said: "I am delighted that Miss Mander has agreed to join our staff team and confirm her place as the permanent Headteacher of Grange Technology College; her energy and enthusiasm is infectious as the students and staff have demonstrated through improved performance in this summer's exams. There is still a long way for Grange to travel on the road to full recovery, but we feel confident that the school's direction of travel under Miss Mander's leadership will continue to be a positive one."
He added : "I hope that students, parents and other stakeholders find these actions a reassuring response to a difficult situation. We will continue to keep our community up to date with any developments, but in the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us."
