Teaching Students to Keep Safe
Year 10 attend performance to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation
On 5th & 6th February 2015, Year 10 attended a performance by the GW Theatre Company about child sexual exploitation & street grooming called 'Somebody's Sister Somebody's Daughter.
This is a powerful drama aimed at young people aged 14 and upwards and adults. It goes behind the front page mug-shots to the human stories of three young people. The production, written by Mike Harris, is designed to tackle the sexual exploitation of young people with a particular emphasis on providing greater understanding and awareness of street grooming, social media vulnerability, online threats and 'sexting'.
The aim was to raise awareness of strategies to keep safe, to highlight student potential vulnerabilities and identify where students can get support.
