The Leeds Book Awards!

Students across years 7 to 11 have been taking part in the Leeds Book Awards!

It's a scheme jointly run by the Leeds School Library Service and Leeds Public Libraries. Students read six books in their age range category and write reviews for the website. We are the only Bradford school to take part in this initiative.

We have entered two categories, the 11 to 14 age range and the 14 to 16 years section. Our students have enjoyed discussing and debating the plot lines and writing styles of the books.

The books have had wide and varied subjects, global issues, love stories, different time settings, witches and immigration.

This week it was time for the students to vote for their favourite book, everyone filled out their voting form which will be counted alongside all the votes across Leeds.

The winning book title and author will be announced at the awards event in May where 10 lucky students will be in attendance. There will be opportunities to meet the authors, ask questions and have our books signed.
