GCSE results day was, as always, a busy morning with the usual tension and excitement as Year 11 collected their results and learned what their next step in education will be.
There were some great individual success stories and achievements again this year. We would like to extend our congratulations to everyone who got the grades they wanted to take them to where they want to be in Year 12 and to thank them for all their work.
Amongst the top performing students were Halima Bibi (2A*, 7A and 1B), Shubhon Deb (1A*, 6A, 2B, 1C), Mardiyyah Adeka (2A*, 2A, 5B), Hager Mrihel (2A*, 6A, 1B, 1Distinction*), Suraj Shah (5A*, 5A, 1B), Ayesha Ashraf (7A*, 3A, 1B), Jamal Sharif (5A*, 4A, 1B, 1C) and Ali Hussain (2A*, 6A, 3B, 1 Distinction*). Other notable achievements include Diana Kudrjavceva who gained grades of 1A, 5B, 2C and 1D. Diana arrived in the UK from Latvia in 2011 with no knowledge of the English language (she got a B in English!)
As mentioned in our coverage of the A level results last week, there is a great deal of work to be done to make Grange great again and we are committed to the Twelve Month Turnaround as the first step towards that aim. This process has already started. Our community deserves better and we will be doing everything we can to make improvements next year and beyond. We look forward to welcoming many of our year 11 back in September and we wish those well who are leaving us for new challenges elsewhere.
