Trust Merger with the Co-op Academies Trust

The board of trustees of the Southfield Grange Trust believes that it is in the best interest of Grange Technology College and Southfield School, and the education and welfare of their pupils, to join the Co-op Academies Trust (CAT)

The Regional Schools Commissioner and Head teacher Board for Lancashire and West Yorkshire have approved this proposal and set a provisional conversion time of the Spring.

The schools are proposing to transfer to the Co-op Academies Trust to gain additional support in improving the educational provision as part of the trust’s plans. The schools will join 18 other schools across Leeds, Manchester, The Wirral and Stoke-on-Trent under the Co-op Academies Trust, with the Co-op business acting as the sponsor. The Co-op offers access to business expertise and learning opportunities for our students and more.

The Co-op Trust has shown sensitivity with the community, and the two schools will be keeping their names, and will be called ‘Co-op Academy Grange’ and ‘Co-op Academy Southfield.’ Also, the introduction of new uniforms has been agreed to be completed on a graduated timescale, so that families are not required to buy the new garments until the next natural point of replacement.

If you have any further questions we welcome you to attend the consultation meeting held at The Southfield Grange Campus on 26th Feb from 5pm- 6pm, or complete the questionnaire from this website.
